Tengetile Simelane* has been a loyal customer of since 2019 to date. She and her husband needed to build their family home urgently. Referred by a friend, she decided to visit one of the branches and see if she could get the help she needed. She applied for a loan got the money on time- within 24 hours. She and her husband always dreamed of building their own home. They used locally manufactured cement bricks and local labour to keep the building costs as low as possible. In August 2020 they moved into their almost complete home. Dlamini said “If it wasn’t for GetBucks we most probably would still be staying in our old rented 2 roomed house”.

Approaching GetBucks in 2014, Anna obtained a loan to build her house and chose to repay it over a period of 24 months. She used this first loan to build a foundation and purchase some building material. The loan was enough, at the time, to complete the house. She finished constructing the walls, roofing, and wiring and connected her five-room home to the electricity grid. A further loan, through a rollover, helped to fund her agriculture business. In 2022 she intends to borrow more to complete tiling in her home and a one-room flat she plans to rent out.

A 41-year-old teacher, Anna Mabuza* from a rural settlement in the eastern part of the Manzini region had lived in a government house most of her working life. She harboured a dream of one day being a homeowner. In 2012, she began to search for a small piece of land on which to build a house. Mabuza required urgent finance and conventional loan products were too costly for her salary.
